Streamlined device deployment with Zero-touch

Save time and resources by remotely deploying hundreds or even thousands of devices with Android Zero-touch deployment. In this blog, you will discover what Zero-touch entails, what its benefits are, and how to get started with it. Additionally, we will explain each step of the Zero-touch deployment process in our demo video. Let’s explore!

What is Zero-touch?

Android Zero-touch is a solution for streamlined device deployment and automated configuration in enterprises. It allows IT administrators to remotely configure and manage large fleets of Android devices across multiple locations, without manual intervention, and within a very short timeframe. This ensures rapid deployment, enhanced security, and standardised configurations across your organisation.

The benefits of Zero-touch

Zero-touch is designed to simplify the deployment of Android devices at scale. It provides an ideal solution for businesses of all sizes with many benefits, including:

  • Reduced deployment time: devices are ready to use out-of-the-box, reducing set up time by more than 80%;
  • Increased efficiency: automated set up minimises the need for (manual) IT intervention;
  • Enhanced security: consistent device set up ensures compliance with security policies, improving overall data protection;
  • Scalability: easily deploy hundreds or thousands of devices with minimal effort, accommodating increased workforce demand.

Zero-touch deployment enables you to send completely new and untouched devices to your end-customers. Once turned on, the devices will automatically connect to the Android Enterprise Zero-touch portal and configure themselves according to the EMM profiles. Zero-touch: The deployment process

Flowchart Zero Touch

Now you know what Zero-touch entails and what the benefits are, we will dive a little deeper into the deployment process. The Zero-touch deployment process consists of seven steps: (1) Purchase, (2) Account creation, (3) Assigning devices, (4) EMM profiles, (5) Map devices, (6) Ship, and (7) Device assigned.

In the following demonstration, our technical director Harold will go through each step of this process, explaining what to do and how it works:

How to get started with Zero-touch

Have we piqued your interest? Excellent! Let’s go through the four steps on how to get started with Zero-touch.

  1. First, you need to have a device that is compatible with Android Zero-touch enrolment, including Google Mobile Services and Google Play services. For example, our APPC-10SLBe.
  2. Next, you must be an authorised reseller of Zero-touch enabled products or purchase your devices from an authorised reseller such as ProDVX. This means, if you do not wish to become an authorised reseller yourself, ProDVX can assign devices to your customers upon request.
  3. Additionally, you will require a Google-certified Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) tool that supports Zero-touch enrolment. ProDVX collaborates with numerous partners offering these software tools, which are also fully compatible with our APPC-10SLBe.
  4. Last but not least, you need a Google Account.

Check? Now you are ready to get started with Android Zero-touch!
